The Toys R Us application is available online and is split up into several sections so that you only apply for the types of jobs you're interested in acquiring. You can choose from corporate positions, jobs in-store at Toys R Us or Babies R Us, and jobs in the distribution center. There are also student opportunities.

To locate the Toys R Us application online, visit the Toys R Us website and scroll to the bottom of the page. Click on Careers. From there, you can choose which of the following types of jobs you're interested in:

• Corporate positions
• Store leadership positions
• Distribution Center leadership positions
• Full or part time hourly positions at Toys R Us
• Full or part time hourly positions at Babies R Us
• Full or part time hourly Distribution Center positions

Most branches of the application are very similar, with differences boiling down to the nature of the job-related questions.

The first step is to narrow down the type of job you want and the location in which you plan to work. Choose the locations you'd be most interested in for a list of jobs that have been posted in up to the last month. Click on the listing to find out what the job entails and what the requirements are.

If you don't already have an account, you'll be asked to make one, and then fill in personal information like name, address, and when you're available to start work. You can add jobs to your cart or apply for a single job. You can upload your resume and any attachments you'd like to add and then enter your work experience, your education, and which days and shifts you'll be available to work.

The next step involves the traditional application questions, such as when you're available, your name and address, and your work experience specific to the job for which you'd like to be considered. After that, enter your education, more availability questions, job specific questions, and check over the summary. Finally, you can submit your Toys R Us application for consideration.

Your information is saved as you go, so if you can't finish everything at once, it's no problem. You can even go in later and apply for additional jobs without having to complete the whole application process again.

The hourly application has a different feel from the one for salaried positions in the corporate office, leadership in the distribution center, or as store management. In some ways, it's even more thorough. First, choose your language. Search for jobs near where you live, then apply for them online after reading the details of the position and verifying that your skills and experience match up.

One of the first steps is to fill in your personal information and the best way to contact you. Before getting very far into the application, you're asked to enter your social security number and then use the last four digits as a signature, saying that it is okay to perform a background check. Next, they'll want to know that you're legal to work in the United States and that you will consent to a drug test if offered the job. After that, you'll be asked questions about jobs you've held over the last five years. You can add your resume if you'd like, but it isn't necessary.

Next, you'll get questions about:

• Highest level of education completed
• Where you got your diploma or GED
• Performance in high school
• Whether you have any references
• Whether you've ever applied at or worked in a Toys R Us store or one of its affiliates, or know anyone who is a current or former employee of a Toys R Us location

Finally, you'll be asked to read a description of the job you're applying for and verify that you will be able to perform the job duties.

After verifying that you can do the job, you'll be asked a series of questions about the direct experience you have relating to the duties of the job you're seeking. You may be asked roughly 20 questions. Finally, they want to know when you're available for work, plus the hourly pay you would like.

The next series of questions is about your attitude, followed by criminal history inquiries. This is followed by a series of voluntary Work Opportunity Tax Credit and Equal Employment Opportunity questions.

Finally, you'll review the personal information you provided earlier and submit your application.

There are some competitive perks to working for Toys R Us in some positions, including insurance, a 401(k), paid time off, employee assistance programs, and a college savings plan.
