-- Contributed by: kellyGrace - Requirements for qualifying for unemployment vary from one state to another, so to be certain you need to find out what the regulations are in the state where you live (or specific to your locality if you are not in the U.S.). However, if I am reading your comment correctly, it looks like you have been working as an independent contractor since 2002. If that is the case, you will not be eligible for unemployment in any U.S. state.
-- Contributed by: Mary WhiteI worked for Compufact Research since Jan.06/2002 until May 25/2009 and before I worked for Famous Barr for 26 years(which is now "Macey's"). Compufct Research is a home based business, of which they don't pay unemployment taxes and Famous Barr(Macey's) did. I retired in 1999 and went to work for Compufact 2 years later. I worked for a call center after retiring and I can't remember the name of it. I do receive so. security and need a job at home. Am I eligelable for unemployment commpensation?.
